Where has the time gone??
I may be slightly behind on the NFL so will have an update on that soon and have been out with the camera so have a few more posts I can follow this up with but I’m FINALLY updating the blog again!
To kickstart the festive season this year I went with a few of my friends to Westonbirt Arboretum to check out their festive light show. And drink mulled cider.
I don’t have any mulled cider left to share with you so you’ll have to make do with some piccies.

It was a bitterly cold Sunday evening but that apparently hadn’t dissuaded anyone from visiting as the arboretum was packed with merrymakers of all ages. We took our time though and the crowd slowly thinned out to allow us to check out the amazing display in relative peace!

The initial trail of colourfully underlit trees gradually developed into more elaborate displays as a friendly tree welcomed everyone to the trail before it opened out to reveal an impressive light show.

I’m not sure about the launchpad thing. It was mostly just loud but it did look kinda cool so I’ll give it a pass – it certainly got all the kids excited about seeing Santa!

After dodging past Santa, and the small army of excited children, we rounded a corner to find a spectacular light show slightly reminiscent of the Northern Lights.

This was the easily the best display in the arboretum and had people mesmerised watching the lights, projected on to the smoke, flow over the path.

All in all it was a rather good way of kicking of this year’s Christmas festivities and I’d recommend it if you’re in the area – just wrap up warm!
