NFL is back, and this year we’re kicking it up a notch
The CRFFL is back in all it’s glory. Two divisions of 10 teams going at it once again for the magnificent Superb Owl trophy. Bash is back and looking to defend her title after a dominant 2018 season… but that isn’t our focus
The Elite Dynasty League is here.
That’s right, 12 teams of NFL mad Brits (or 11 and Scrine, thanks for making it 12 Scrine!!) will do battle for the rest of eternity for bragging rights the likes of which have never been seen.
Seeing as I’ve not posted for 3 months (!!), I thought I’d document how we’ve set up the league and generally ramble about how the Giants will go about winning this comfortably.
Might as well start with the rosters and scoring.
The CRFFL is a classic PPR league with a Kicker and Def/ST but, seeing as the commish is a Jags fan, we’ve gone with individual defensive players (IDP) in our dynasty league to try and make the Jags somewhat relevant. You’re welcome Dom.
So, the roster positions are as follows
Offense –
- QB
- RB
- RB
- WR
- WR
- WR
- TE
- FLEX
- FLEX
- FLEX
- K
Defense –
- DL
- DL
- DL
- LB
- LB
- LB
- DB
- DB
- DB
- FLEX
- FLEX
12 Bench, 6 Taxi, 2 IR
Obviously the first question is about having only one QB and the second, the single TE slot.
The single QB slot has a fairly simple explanation – you only play one QB so we only have one! In standard scoring this greatly diminishes the value of QBs and so we have adjusted the scoring to compensate
- Completed pass: 0.1
- Yards: 0.04
- Touch Down 6
- INT -4
Hopefully these adjustments will elevate all QBs in value and then the harsh INT penalty will sort them into tiers – this also has effect of reducing the dominance of rushing QBs whilst still keeping them effective.

No such argument for the single TE – people don’t like them. In fact, they don’t like them so much that the choice to have only one was made 2 minutes before the draft started which rather changed my plan! More on that in another post.
IDP scoring… right. Changed my mind, that can also wait til another post!
